Gatwick Airport to London Bridge, via the M23.

Gatwick to London Bridge is about 30 miles and roughly 70 minutes. It is inside the Congestion Charge zone, and the station has a specific set-down area rather than a stop on the main road. Fixed fare here, or call +44 20 8050 9020.

The Gatwick to London Bridge route

The M23 then the A23 in through Purley, Streatham and Brixton, then east along the A3 and A200 towards Borough. Around 30 miles and about 70 minutes. It is one of the shortest Gatwick to London journeys by distance and, like most of them, the final miles through south London do most of the damage to the clock.

What tends to affect the time

The A23 through Brixton

The least predictable section, and slowest between about 4pm and 7pm.

Borough High Street

Narrow, busy with buses and often congested around the station.

Tooley Street

The main approach on the river side, and the route to the station set-down.

Match and event days

Traffic around the area changes noticeably when there is something on at the O2 or a large City event finishing.

Dropping off at London Bridge

London Bridge is inside the Congestion Charge zone. The charge is 18 pounds a day, applying 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and midday to 6pm at weekends and bank holidays, and it applies to journeys entering the zone during those hours. It is free between Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Whatever charges apply on your route, the Congestion Charge included, they are already inside the fixed fare we quote you. You never pay them separately to the driver.

The station

There is a designated set-down area off Tooley Street; your driver will use it rather than stopping on the main road.

The Shard

Its own entrance and drop-off arrangements, separate from the station concourse. Say if that is where you are going.

Borough Market

Largely pedestrianised, so set-down is at the edge on Southwark Street or Borough High Street.

Guy's Hospital

A separate entrance on Great Maze Pond, which is easier than the station approach.

Practical details

Your driver waits inside arrivals at your Gatwick terminal with a name board. This is our optional meet and greet service. If you'd rather not add it, your driver phones you once you're on the ground to agree where to meet. We track the inbound flight so a delay moves the pickup, and the first 60 minutes after landing are included.
A saloon covers two with cases, an MPV four with full luggage, and the eight seater a group. The streets here are tight, so tell us the exact destination and we will pick a stopping point that works.

Meeting your driver at Gatwick

Your driver tracks the inbound flight, so a delay on the runway does not cost you the car. Arrival time is taken from the moment the aircraft lands rather than the time printed on the ticket, and waiting time is included while you clear immigration and collect bags.

North and South Terminal

Tell us the terminal when you book and the driver meets you in the arrivals hall by the exit from baggage reclaim, holding a name board. If you land at one terminal and your booking says the other, the shuttle between the two runs around the clock and takes a few minutes, but it is simpler to send us a quick message so the driver moves to meet you.

If plans change in the air

Diversions, missed connections and cancelled flights happen. Call the office as soon as you have signal and we will rebook the pick-up rather than treating it as a no-show. For very late landings the car is still held, because the driver is watching the flight rather than the clock.

Arriving at London Bridge

London Bridge covers a lot of ground for a station, with entrances on Tooley Street, St Thomas Street and the bus station side, and they are not interchangeable if you are carrying luggage. Tell us which side you need, or give the name of the hotel or office you are actually heading for, and the driver will take you there rather than to the postcode centroid.

The Shard, Guy's and Borough Market

Many bookings here are really for something beside the station. The Shard has its own set-down, Guy's Hospital has a defined entrance for patients, and the streets around Borough Market are closed to traffic for much of the day. All are workable, but each needs a different approach, so the exact destination is worth a moment when you book.

Charges and traffic

London Bridge is inside both the Congestion Charge zone and the ULEZ. Our vehicles are compliant and any charge is included in the fare agreed at booking. Traffic across the river is slowest in the late afternoon, so evening arrivals are worth padding slightly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not separately, no. Any charge that applies to your journey is already inside the fixed fare we quote, so there is nothing to settle with the driver. For reference, it applies to journeys entering the zone during charging hours, 7am to 6pm on weekdays and midday to 6pm at weekends and bank holidays. It is 18 pounds a day.

Around 70 minutes for about 30 miles. Short by distance, and slower than that suggests because the last stretch runs through south London streets.

In the designated set-down area off Tooley Street, rather than on Borough High Street where stopping is restricted.

No, it has its own entrance and arrangements. Tell us if that is your destination and we will use it.

At the edge, on Southwark Street or Borough High Street. The market itself is pedestrianised.

We track it and move the pickup to your actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting.

Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice to be eligible for a refund, and refunds are subject to a £7 or 10% administration fee, whichever is higher. No refund is issued where notice is under 24 hours, or where the passenger does not show up. To cancel, email or call us and wait for written confirmation; until you have that, the booking still stands.
