Heathrow is west along Victoria Street and the Cromwell Road, or the Embankment to the A4 — around forty-five minutes early in the day and an hour and a quarter through the evening peak. London City is east along the Embankment and through the Limehouse Link, usually the fastest of the airports from here and the one most underrated in the morning.
Gatwick means crossing at Westminster or Lambeth Bridge and picking up the A23 south, about the hour. Luton and Stansted both head north and out, and neither is difficult once you are clear of the middle.
The local factor is closures. State occasions, demonstrations, security operations and the ordinary business of Parliament all close roads around Whitehall, Parliament Square and Birdcage Walk at short notice.
