Heathrow is a short hop north on the A30 or the M25 for a single junction. Terminal four is the nearest and terminal five barely further, both signed directly off junction fourteen; terminals two and three mean the central tunnel and add a few minutes. Everything else depends on which way you go round the M25. Gatwick is anti-clockwise past junction eight and down the M23, usually about an hour. Luton and Stansted are clockwise, past Heathrow and up the western side — the least predictable stretch of the whole motorway, and where the extra time on those runs goes. Central London is either the M3 and A316 through Twickenham or the M4 and A4, and the hour of the day decides which.
