Taxi from Southend route details

Two roads leave Southend westward and they behave very differently. The A127 is the faster of the two and runs to the M25 at junction twenty-nine near Romford; the A13 is slower but goes closer to the river and is the better line for London City and the Docklands. For Stansted the usual route is north on the A130 and across to the M11, avoiding London altogether.
Heathrow and Gatwick both mean the Dartford Crossing, and that is where the time goes. A clear crossing puts Heathrow at about an hour and a half; a bad one adds thirty to forty-five minutes with very little warning. We build that into the pickup rather than the price, and on early departures it usually means leaving before the crossing gets busy.
