The Outer Circle, and where a car can wait

The Outer Circle is the road around the park, and it runs one way — which means a car approaching from the wrong side has to go most of the way round. The Inner Circle around Queen Mary's Gardens is the same. If your address is on one of the terraces or inside the park, tell us which, and the driver will approach from the right direction first time rather than doing a lap.
The park gates also close overnight, so a route that works at noon does not work at five in the morning. We plan the approach accordingly for early departures.

Getting out to the airports

West to Heathrow the route is the Marylebone Road to the A40 Westway and the M4, which is a good road and generally reliable. North to Luton, the A41 or the M1 via Swiss Cottage avoids the centre entirely — one of the better Luton runs from anywhere in central London.
Gatwick and London City both mean crossing town, and both should be given more time in the afternoon than the mileage implies. Marylebone Road itself is busy through the day and the Euston Road continuation more so.

Zoo, college and residential pickups

London Zoo sits on the northern edge of the park and generates family work, usually with a pushchair and more bags than expected — worth mentioning at booking so the vehicle fits. We also collect from the colleges and institutions around the park, the medical practices on Harley Street and Devonshire Place a short way south, and the residential terraces and mansion blocks around the Outer Circle and Park Road.
