Plymouth is a long way from a runway. The city has the sea on one side and Dartmoor on the other, no airport of its own since the local one closed, and the nearest big one is a two-hour drive. That makes an airport transfer here a proper undertaking, and a fixed price on it a genuinely useful thing.

We run fixed-fare transfers to and from Plymouth around the clock. The fare is agreed before you book, your flight is tracked, and any tolls or charges on the route are already inside it.

Why choose Minicabees for Plymouth transfers?

On a four-hour drive, everything that can be agreed in advance should be. That means the fare, the vehicle and what happens if the flight lands two hours late — none of which should be worked out at the kerbside.

One fixed fare per vehicle, agreed before you book and unchanged afterwards

Flights tracked automatically, so delays and early landings move the pickup at no extra charge

London emission zones, tolls and airport entry charges all included in the quoted price

Saloons, estates, MPVs and eight-seaters, matched to the luggage you tell us about

Licensed private hire drivers who do the long west-country runs and plan the breaks into them

Twenty-four hour booking, and a real phone number when plans change

Taxi from Plymouth route details

The A38 Devon Expressway runs east from the city past Ivybridge, Buckfastleigh and Ashburton to Exeter, where it meets the M5. It is dual carriageway, fast in the main, and the section climbing over the edge of Dartmoor is the one that suffers in bad weather. From Exeter there is a choice: the M5 and M4 all-motorway route, or the A303 across Somerset and Wiltshire, which is shorter and quicker when clear and notably slower when it is not.
Realistically, Heathrow is a three and three quarter hour drive and Gatwick over four. Those are not journeys to start an hour before check-in, and the sensible plan is an overnight or a very early pickup. We will say so at booking rather than let the timing be optimistic.
Where a route enters a London charging zone or uses a toll, the cost is already inside your quoted fare.

Cruise and ferry transfers

Plymouth has its own ferry port at Millbay for the Roscoff and Santander crossings, and we run to and from it as a matter of routine. Southampton for a cruise is about two and three quarter hours; we set the pickup from your check-in window rather than the sailing time, and tell us the ship and terminal when you book.

Flight monitoring on every Plymouth airport taxi

Give us the flight number and we watch it. Land early and the car is already there; get delayed and the pickup moves, with nothing extra to pay for the wait. The first hour after landing is included as standard, which on a route this long is worth having rather than arranging a car from the arrivals hall.

Plymouth taxi price guide

Fares are quoted per vehicle before you commit, from the real distance between your two postcodes and the size of car you need. No meter, no per-passenger pricing and nothing added later: tolls, emission zones, airport entry and the first hour of waiting are all inside the number you agree.

Around Plymouth

We cover the city along with Plymstock, Plympton, Devonport, Stoke, Mutley, Peverell, Crownhill, Estover, Saltash and out towards Ivybridge and Tavistock. Regular pickups are Plymouth station, Derriford Hospital, the University of Plymouth, the Barbican and Hoe hotels, and the naval base at Devonport. Service travel is a steady part of the work here, and so is the university at the start and end of term.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Any toll on your route, London emission zone charges and airport entry fees are all inside the fare you are quoted. Nothing is added afterwards.

Tell us the number of passengers and the number of cases and we send a car that fits — saloon, estate, MPV or eight-seater. On a four-hour drive comfort matters as much as capacity, so it is worth being accurate about both.

Realistically about three and three quarter hours for the 215 miles, on the A38 to Exeter and then either the M5 and M4 or the A303. It is not a journey to start late — an early pickup is the sensible plan.

Around 120 miles, typically two and a quarter hours via the A38 and M5. It is the nearest major airport and the one most Plymouth passengers use for European flights.

Yes. Plymouth's own ferry terminal at Millbay is a routine local run for the Roscoff and Santander sailings. Tell us the crossing and check-in time when you book.

Yes. Give us the flight number when you book and we track it, so an early landing or a delay moves the pickup automatically at no extra charge.

Yes. We pick up across Plymouth and the surrounding area, including Plymstock, Plympton, Devonport, Crownhill, Estover, Saltash, Ivybridge and Tavistock, on the same fixed-fare basis.
