Luton is the easy one: the M1 south to junction ten and straight into the airport, usually about forty-five minutes and often less at dawn. Birmingham is the M1 north to the M6 and round to the A45, roughly an hour. Both are close enough that a delayed flight is an inconvenience rather than a crisis.
Heathrow means continuing past Luton to the M25 at junction twenty-one and then clockwise to the M4 spur — about an hour and a half in clear conditions. Gatwick carries on further round the western side, which is where the extra half hour goes. Stansted takes a different line altogether, east on the A14 and down the M11, avoiding the M25 entirely.
