Eastbourne sits under Beachy Head at the eastern end of the South Downs, which is a fine place to live and an awkward one to leave in a hurry. There is no motorway within twenty miles and the A22 north is the only quick way out — so an airport transfer from here is a planned journey rather than a dash.

We run fixed-fare transfers to and from Eastbourne around the clock. The fare is agreed before you book, your flight is tracked, and any tolls or charges on the route are already inside it.

Why choose Minicabees for Eastbourne transfers?

An hour and a quarter to Gatwick is fine. What is not fine is a meter running through the A22 roadworks, a car that will not take four people and their cases, or a driver who left because the flight slipped. All three are settled at booking.

One fixed fare per vehicle, agreed before you book and unchanged afterwards

Flights tracked automatically, so delays and early landings move the pickup at no extra charge

London emission zones, tolls and airport entry charges all included in the quoted price

Saloons, estates, MPVs and eight-seaters, matched to the luggage you tell us about

Licensed private hire drivers who know the A22, the A27 and where the single-carriageway sections bite

Twenty-four hour booking, and a real phone number when plans change

Taxi from Eastbourne route details

The A22 is the road north, running up through Hailsham, Uckfield and East Grinstead to the M23 at junction ten. It is dual for much of the way and single in places, and those single stretches are what separate a good run from a slow one. For Gatwick that is the whole journey; for Heathrow, Luton or Stansted you carry on to the M25 and the direction round it decides the rest.
The alternative for London-bound journeys is the A27 west to Lewes and the A23 through Brighton, which is longer in miles and sometimes shorter in time when the A22 is congested. Along the coast eastwards, the A259 to Hastings and beyond is scenic and slow; for Dover we generally head inland instead.
Where a route enters a London charging zone or uses a toll, the cost is already inside your fare.

Airport pickups on the return

Standard pickup

Your driver waits in the short-stay car park and calls or messages once you are through arrivals. The cheaper option, and simple at Gatwick where the car parks sit directly above the terminals.

Meet-and-greet inside the terminal

Your driver parks and waits in arrivals with a name board, then walks you to the car and takes the luggage. Worth the extra with children, heavy bags, or a late landing with an hour and a quarter still to drive. Add it when you book.

Flight monitoring on every Eastbourne airport taxi

Give us the flight number and we watch it. Land early and the car is already there; get delayed and the pickup moves, with nothing extra to pay for the wait. The first hour after landing is included as standard — which matters a great deal on a route where the alternative is arranging a car at midnight for a drive to the coast.

Eastbourne taxi price guide

Every fare is quoted per vehicle before you commit, from the real distance between your two postcodes and the vehicle you need. No meter, no per-passenger pricing and nothing added later: tolls, emission zones, airport entry and the first hour of waiting are all inside the number you agree.

Around Eastbourne

We cover Eastbourne along with Meads, Old Town, Hampden Park, Langney, Sovereign Harbour, Willingdon, Polegate, Pevensey and out towards Hailsham and Seaford. Regular pickups are the seafront hotels along Grand Parade and Royal Parade, Eastbourne District General Hospital, Eastbourne station, the conference venues and the residential streets up in Meads. The town fills in summer and during the tennis at Devonshire Park, and the airport runs around those weeks are worth booking early.
